Got Bait? Is LIVE!

This all new, one-of-a-kind fishing show from boats.com is like nothing you’ve seen before—and it went live today.

Today is quite a special day here at boats.com. Because Got Bait? just went live. (Watch the first episode, The Hunt for Flounder.)

Got Bait? Is LIVE!

Team Bait and Team Lures square off for the first time in the pilot episode of Got Bait?

What, you may ask, is Got Bait? It’s an all-new fishing show, an original boats.com production, and it is unlike any fishing show you’ve ever seen before. Though you will learn a thing or two about fishing, we also focus on the livelier aspects of the sport – I like to describe it as a combination of Deadliest Catch, Dance Moms, and Top Gear. (We tried adding in a dash of Honey Boo-boo and a pinch of Jersey Shore, but we toned things down a bit so the cameraman would stop crying.)

The theme of the show is Bait vs. Lures: Which is Better? This argument has been going on for eons, ever since the first caveman tried tying a fly out of wooly mammoth fur and then (much to everyone’s amazement) actually caught dinner. We settle it by dividing up into Team Bait and Team Lures and having a head-to-head fish-off.

In the pilot episode, the contest took place while flounder fishing in coastal bays. That’s the one you can see today; next month, we’ll be bringing you striper fishing on the Chesapeake, and then fishing for mahi-mahi at the canyons.

Which will win, bait or lures? You’ll have to watch Got Bait? to find out. Along the way, you can also test your fishing knowledge with fishing quizzes, test your technique with fishing tips, and test your stomach when you find out what Team Bait dropped into my bottle of spring water. Yes, I did drink some before they told me.

Okay, let’s have a drum roll, please… here’s Got Bait?!
