Cure the Winter Blues: Visit a Boat Show

Whether it's just to escape the cold or to actively shop for a boat, visiting a boat show can be a great experience.

Yup, it’s cold outside here in the Northeast. But we’ve got the cure for wintertime blues: go to a boat show!

MIami International Boat Show

The Miami International Boat Show is a great place to shop for a new boat or new equipment.

One of the biggest starts later this week: the Miami International Boat Show. It is a full court press of industry, boat shopping, and new gadgets—in a temptingly tropical location. Last year was my first Miami Show, and I’m eager to help the boats.com editorial team scour this year’s extravaganza for new models and new gear. If you’ve got the winter doldrums, why not use this annual gathering as an excuse for a trip south? Here’s a teaser video to whet your appetite.

Closer to home, smaller boat shows can give you a taste of summer even while winter rages outside. Rubbing elbows with others who share our passion for getting out on the water, it’s easier to forget that spring is still several weeks away.

And if you don’t know where to start when visiting a show, Doug Logan has the information you need over on WaterBlogged:
