Sea Ray, Viking, Scout among AIM Marine Group Award Winners

Forty-one awards were offered to a broad spectrum of major players in the marine industry.

The AIM Marine Group, a division of the publishing powerhouse Active Interest Media, including Soundings, Soundings Trade Only, Passagemaker, Power & Motoryacht, Yachts International, and Sail, presented their Editor’s Choice Awards at the recent Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.  The recipients, as published in Soundings Trade Only, are shown in the list below.

Sea Ray 370 Sundancer

The Sea Ray 370 Sundancer, one of the AIM Marine Group Editor's Choice award-winners.

Boats.com also had seaboots on the dock at FLIBS, and saw many of the award recipients first-hand. Here are some notes from our editors and writers on the virtues of a few stand-outs among the winners.

Viking 55 Convertible - Best Sportfish, 50-59 feet

“Very impressed with the quality of this boat. The engine room was well thought-out and the boat was, above all, functional and not overdone.”

Sabre 48Best Downeast, 45-55 feet

“The clever hideaway steps on the Sabre 48 lead to a versatile space that can accommodate a kids’ cabin, utility room or private space for the crew.”

Scout 320 LXF

“Strong, seaworthy, premium quality, and slick (check out the lighting) on their LX (luxury fisherman) line of center-consoles. They have ‘pearlescent’ hull colors this year.”

Sea Ray 370 Sundancer

“While many boat builders are sitting on their hands, Sea Ray’s slew of new introductions proves this company is still a leader, not a follower. This is true not only of the 370 but of all their new boats. Each breaks new ground in its own way.”

Boats.com congratulates all the AIM Marine Group award-winners.
