Route du Rhum, Where Virtual Racing Meets Reality

DesTopNews, a video hosted by Sebastien Destremau, introduces this year's Route du Rhum competitors, as well as a top skipper in the simultaneous Virtual Regatta, including insights into how to play the game on your computer.

Brought to you by Virtual Regatta, here is a special edition of the program DesTopNews, focused entirely on the ninth running of the Route du Rhum La Banque Postale. Choose your race boat at Virtual Regatta for the Route du Rhum race. It includes an interview with Bruno Ferrando, the skipper of Aldrabra, a virtual boat Bruno has raced successfully as an online skipper for many years. He describes this social phenomenon that fascinates hundreds of thousands of virtual skippers. As we write, on Friday, the 29th of October, there are already 52,928 skippers registered to sail in this famous French singlehanded race from St. Malo to Guadeloupe. To sail the race virtually, register here and you'll join the Boats.com race group, which offers Boats.com foul weather jackets by Henri Lloyd to the winners of each class, multihull and monohull. To read more about the race, read my earlier blog "Race Across the Atlantic Virtual-Regatta Style". Note: DesTopNews is a weekly sailing update program hosted in French/English and translated into German/Portuguese Sébastien Destremau www.destopnews.tv
