Portofino 48: Sunseeker Express Cruiser

"Brimming with technology" according to CEO Robert Braithwaite, the Portofino 48 brings Sunseeker mystique back to (nearly) mainstream cruising.

Sunseeker owner Robert Braithwaite cut the ribbon on a new model at the London International Boat Show, a Sports Cruiser called the Portofino 48, correcting himself with a smile after first announcing that it was “48 meters” rather than 48 feet in length. Braithwaite could be excused; the premier British builder’s models have progressively stretched in recent years. But this boat comes back to the mainstream, offering a boat with some of the speed and styling of the Predator performance line, while providing some of the additional accommodation of a motoryacht. This photo gallery tells the story.

  1. A million dollar “day boat”?! Day boat sounds somewhat demeaning. Is this boat not capable of cruising down the coast from sf to San Diego?
